How to protect yourself from ransomware attacks?
The ransomware that struck the United Kingdom has been blamed on a group of hackers called the Shadow Brokers, a group that has released documents detailing the exploits of the Equation Group, a global network of cybercriminals that are responsible for the recent Equation breach.
The group has also been behind a massive hack on Target, which was launched after the retailer suffered a data breach.
The attack has been dubbed the ‘Dirty Dozen’ and is thought to have been orchestrated by the ShadowBrokers, who are thought to be responsible for both the Target breach and the recent ransomware attack.
The ShadowBroks have been linked to a number of cyberattacks on targets across the world, including the United States, the European Union, Canada, Russia and Australia, as well as China.
The group has been accused of carrying out similar attacks on Target in 2017, targeting the retail giant in Australia, the UK and the United Arab Emirates.
