When the league’s jerseys are recycled, why not the socks?
The first-ever Nike Pro Bowl is here, and it’s about to get even bigger.
The league will unveil the first-of-its-kind jersey and socks partnership in a bid to promote the league to younger fans.
The two companies will collaborate on the new jerseys and socks for the 2018-2019 season.
The partnership is being spearheaded by Nike Pro, which is the exclusive sponsor of the league.
The league will also receive sponsorship from Adidas, the world’s largest athletic footwear manufacturer.
The Nike Pro-Socks partnership will be unveiled on Thursday during the league meetings in Nashville.
The collaboration was announced by commissioner Rob Manfred on Tuesday.
“We’re delighted to have the opportunity to partner with Nike on our upcoming jersey and sock designs,” Manfred said in a statement.
“Nike’s Pro-Brand technology allows us to create a collection that combines the best in sports technology with the latest innovations in design.”
The league is hoping to expand the collection to the other Pro Bowls this year, including the Super Bowl.
