— Textile and textile manufacturing giant Bhawann Textiles has a $5.4 billion market capitalization, and the company is looking for a second wave of hiring, a spokeswoman said Tuesday.
The company is hiring about 2 and 1/2 times as many people as it was hiring before the downturn in the textile and textile apparel industries, said the spokeswoman, Mary Jane Dannemiller.
That means about 5,000 to 6,000 jobs could be created by the end of the year, she said.
BHWAs apparel division, which includes BH&A, has a staff of about 500 people.
She declined to say how many new hires are expected.
The spokeswoman said the company was looking to fill the positions with people who are well-qualified and who are interested in manufacturing the clothes, footwear, and furniture.
The spokeswoman said she was not sure how many workers were expected to be employed at the company’s new factory in Bhopal, India.
The factory is the largest of its kind in India and employs about 1,000 workers.
The BHWS also has a factory in Wuhan, China, and is building a new factory for textile and clothing fabric in Pune, India, Dannomiller said.
She said the Wuhans factory will begin production in 2020.
